As part of the SPITZKE group of companies, the following text also applies to MuR-STAHLBAU GmbH:

This is reflected in our 130 job profiles and about 20 apprenticeship and study possibilities, all united under one strong roof.

At the same time we are continuously and systematically developing our fields of business further. As a strong team we support each other. To ensure that every single colleague is able to develop individually, the SPITZKE AKADEMIE and our own training centre cover the full initial and continuing training and education of SPITZKE employees. We are open to change and excited about the future.
SPITZKE. Creating connected dimensions.
SPITZKE’s success story began in the early 1990s with just 40 employees. Currently, this has grown to over 2,300 people who are committed to our mobility every day. We sustain this with a long-term corporate strategy, the goal of which is to bring all rail infrastructure competences under one roof. By doing this, we generate steadily growing turnover every year, realize numerous major projects and drive forward innovation. Our economic environment is one of the most stable. Every year, the German government and the Deutsche Bahn invest billions in the railway network. That’s why you’ll find that your employment with us, which is normally permanent, offers you the best conditions for planning your personal life, meaningful tasks and committed colleagues.
Modern with a view towards the future
We want to be at the forefront of technology in our industry. During planning, for instance, we work with laser-based surveying equipment which creates digital terrain models from survey point clouds. During execution, we use highly complex work trains, automatic welding units and rail-road excavators with computer-aided work modules. Thanks to the ideas and creativity surrounding us, our in-house innovation management team develops technological approaches which serve as role models in the industry. For us, this also includes creating the ideal working environment with state-of-the-art equipment for your entirely individual tasks.
Teamwork counts more than anything else for all of our projects – whether on our large machines, pulling overhead lines, planning or in the commercial area. Everything we accomplish, we accomplish together. This also applies to training. Throughout the training period, our training team is available to support all trainees. Experienced professionals from their respective trades share their wealth of experience and knowledge. We also provide confidential support for concerns and needs with our apprentice advice service – which is available for everyone. We are SPITZKE.
Individual and compatible
Depending on the department you work in, you can freely arrange your working hours and, if necessary, also work part-time in consultation with your manager. For example, in the commercial area, we have trust-based working hours and core working hours. On our construction projects, construction and project schedules mean that shift work is unavoidable. However, even here, it’s important for us to accommodate your individual wishes as far as possible. And if your 30-day holiday entitlement is not enough, we can also discuss a sabbatical or assist quickly and unbureaucratically with special leave for special life situations. For example, this is how we supported our working mothers and fathers with daycare and school closures caused by the pandemic.
Modern and mobile
Flexibility in your career life also means having the opportunity to work away from the office desk occasionally. If your position with us allows it, mobile working is not a problem within a predefined scope (two days per month) in consultation with your supervisor. We are happy to create the necessary conditions. Our office workstations and IT systems are designed for mobility.
Your commitment pays off
Performance based compensation which takes individual skills and qualifications into account is an important part of our corporate culture. In the commercial area, you can also rely on tax-free bonuses in some cases. This means that above-average monthly salaries are possible – especially in project-intensive phases – and, furthermore, your basic salary is secure even during times of little construction.
Supplementary retirement pension
The state pension is becoming less and less for future retirees. That’s why we offer the option of a supplemental company pension. In addition, our employees are automatically members in our career-specific social benefits system.
We take the training of our junior staff ourselves to heart. As an apprentice with us, you can therefore be certain that we will teach you everything you need for your future career with us. During regular development meetings, we work out which areas you are particularly interested in and what your next career steps could be. Regardless of whether you would like to acquire further qualifications, graduate high-school or go to university – you’ll find no limits with us. We want you to become a permanent part of the SPITZKE family after your successful training. Therefore, your employment is our most important goal.
Our employee newspaper “SPITZKE EXPRESS” has a long tradition. For over 20 years, it has accompanied us with our corporate development, our projects and our stories. It has always been one thing: from our employees for our employees. For us, good internal communication also means taking care of the community of over 2,300 committed employees in our company. That’s why our various channels – from “SPITZKE EXPRESS”, to social media, our SPITZKE APP and our intranet on our project tickers – thrive on togetherness. At SPITZKE, you not only read, hear and see everything that’s important, you are right in the middle of it and can help actively shape our internal communication.
With your health in mind
We have had our own health management team at SPITZKE for many years. We are very passionate about keeping our employees healthy. At our company, you can expect a wide range of site-related sports activities, such as fitness courses or company runs. There are lectures on health and body-related topics, ergonomic consultations directly at the workplace, health days and much more. Would you like to update your immunization status? Together with cooperating doctors and our company doctors, we regularly offer vaccinations for influenza and tetanus at our sites and on-site projects.
Focus on people
Health is more than just a fit body. That’s why it’s important to us to support our employees in the event of personal crises and concerns. We’ve had our own employee and management counseling service for many years. It’s available to our 2,300 employees on a confidential and, if necessary, anonymous basis. We offer concrete help, advice or simply listen. In addition, we offer a wide range of training courses for managers, because we believe that maintaining good health in the long term also requires an appreciative and competent management culture.
Sometimes, life just goes crazy. However, even when things are hard, we don’t leave you alone. We set up the non-profit SPITZKE FONDS e.V. to provide fast and unbureaucratic help to employees and their families who find themselves in an emergency situation through no fault of their own. We also use it to support many social projects and institutions outside of our corporate family. Of course, we welcome any voluntary contribution for this social commitment from those surrounding us. You can find more details here: https://www.spitzke.com/en/sustainability/sustainability-corporate-social-responsibility/
We promote learning
We have 130 different job profiles. In order to be able to support employees individually, we have our own further training center with modern didactic concepts in our SPITZKE AKADEMIE. Our offers range from necessary mandatory training courses, basic and advanced training, seminars for managers and our e-book library. Regardless of how you envision your professional career, we will support you to the best of our ability.
There is a lot to discover with us. During the introductory event at our headquarters in Großbeeren, you’ll learn everything about our company group and your new apprenticeship. Your technical aptitude will be just as important as your team spirit. In addition to theory, there will be practical exercises in our training workshop. For example, you can really give 100% during the sporting events. Of course, getting to know each other will not be left out. You’ll get to know all of your apprentice peers as well as apprentices from other years over a meal and a relaxed evening. This is a perfect start to your new phase in life.
Personal development paths
The career paths at our company are as diverse as the individual expectations of our employees. It’s important for us to know where people at SPITZKE want to develop and to support them in their efforts. We hold feedback and development meetings at regular intervals for this purpose. Moreover, we organize an annual event called “YOUR WAY AT SPITZKE” – our internal training day for all employees. You can talk to us openly on equal footing about your very individual goals. Together, we’ll develop your next professional steps and accompany you on the path – from training to retirement, if you’d like. To achieve this, our SPITZKE AKADEMIE works hand in hand with our human resources development team.
We are committed
As a major player in the rail system, we are committed to environmentally friendly and sustainable mobility every day. For this reason, we want to reduce our ecological footprint as much as possible. This not only applies to energy consumption. We also recycle ballasts and disused sleepers, use environmentally friendly lubricants, are increasing the use of electrical motors and provide charging stations at some of our locations. However, sustainability also means taking a long-term view in our strategic planning. For example, we train a large proportion of our skilled workers ourselves. You can find more information on our activities for increase sustainability here.
Countless tons of merchandise and millions of people travel by rail every day in Germany and throughout Europe. Some commute to work, others visit family or friends, and others simply enjoy traveling in a safe, relaxed and environmentally friendly way. Rail transport is, and will remain, the core element for sustainable and climate-friendly transportation. With us, you can help keep the trains rolling reliably every day. Join us to ensure that our mobility remains sustainable and that future generations will also find an environment worth living in!
Our ideas for the future
We consider innovation to be crucial to our future viability. Our scope of work is so specialized that there are not any solutions to many challenges faced on the market. That’s where the creativity and knowledge of our many brilliant minds come into play. With our innovation management, for example, we develop in-house solutions that often later set a precedent for the entire industry. Every single employee can get involved in this process and find the “next big thing”! We look forward to hearing your ideas.
The world is becoming more and more digital
This is also true for rail infrastructure. In the long term, all systems in the industry will be networked and will create countless new opportunities for sustainable, resource-conserving and practical mobility. This is how we will help shape the future and where we want to be the leading pioneers. That’s why we started early to make our processes and working methods suitable for the digital present and future. We are also counting on your commitment and ideas. Join us on this exciting journey!
Exciting and diverse
We have helped create many major infrastructure projects in recent years, contributing our entire portfolio or expertise on most of them. These include the redesign of Berlin’s “Ostkreuz” station as well as the refurbishment of the high-speed line between Mannheim and Stuttgart as well as the electrification of the southern line at Lake Constance. We are consistently developing new concepts and strategies for our every changing environment and always update our processes. Our commercial projects are in no way inferior to other projects “out there” in terms of diversity. With us, you can make a big difference – no matter your workplace – with fantastic teams.
Special conditions for employees
We intensively cultivate our long-standing partnerships with our service providers and have great working relationships with them. Consequently, we are able to offer our employees numerous discounts and attractive special conditions with our service providers. These range from mobile telephone contracts, vehicle repairs and tire changes to insurance. In addition, we also offer company cars with fuel cards under the 1% rule for certain positions.
We strive to be the best employer.
Together we are shaping the future of rail-based mobility. This is only possible with highly committed and competent employees, for whom we want to be the first address. And for which we stand up.
We accompany our employees.
We believe in life-long learning. As an employer, we enable our employees to further qualify and develop in the span of their entire professional lives.
We value good performance.
For us, good work also includes good pay. At SPITZKE, we strive to pay fairly and in line with performance.
We support each other.
As an employer, we are committed to our employees. In addition to our benefits, we provide financial support with our SPITZKE FONDS e.V. and our company social counseling on social issues.
We act sustainably and with foresight.

We promote a healthy work-life-balance.
Whether part-time, time-out or flexible working time models – we take the personal needs and concerns of our employees into account when it comes to organizing working hours.
We take care of the health of our employees.
On site for construction projects or in the branch office – we care about the health and health of our employees. Therefore, good corporate health management is just as important to us as an open corporate culture.
